WSU College Bound: Upward Bound & Educational Talent Search

Welcome!

  • Welcome to College Bound!

WSU COLLEGE BOUND is located in Omak, Washington and serves 50 students in two school districts in Okanogan county.

WSU College Bound  is a federally funded Upward Bound program which prepares and motivates low-income, first-generation high school students to pursue a college education.

UPWARD BOUND is one of a family of TRIO programs funded by the United States Department of Education.  Upward Bound is designed to assist students who are low income, or who would potentially be the first in their family to earn a four-year college degree or who need academic support in order to achieve their goal of post secondary education.

WSU Upward Bound in Okanogan County enrolled the first student in April 2004.  The project now serves 50 students from Omak and Okanogan high schools through an extensive academic year program and  a 4-week summer program.

Upward Bound  offers academic advising, college and career preparation, information on college admissions and financial aid, one on one assistance, tutoring, college tours, leadership experience and training, and the opportunity to particpate in community service activities.
